Care Guide

CLOTHING

Each of our pieces is hand-crafted and made with a lot of love and care. We request you to look after each piece with utmost care. Also read the tags on the inside of the garments carefully. Some pieces are dry clean only. The right care is necessary to maintain longevity of handcrafted pieces. We want your clothes to look as good as new wash after wash, so we’ve put together our top tips on how to wash and care for garments in a responsible way. Not only will you look great in them, but you’ll feel great knowing you’ve done your part for the environment.

# 1: Always check the care label Not sure what the symbols mean? Take a look at our handy guide below.

# 2: Make your wash more fluid When it comes to detergent – liquid is good, eco-friendly detergent is better! Powder detergents contain mineral abrasives which increase friction, causing fibres to break and shred, not only damaging your clothes but also polluting the environment.

# 3: Wash at 30! You may think hotter = cleaner but actually a 30⁰ wash will leave your clothes just as clean, help them last longer AND use 40% LESS energy. It’s a win for your wardrobe, a win for your wallet and a win for the environment.

# 4: Wash less   Stop and think: does the item you’re about to put in the laundry basket need to be washed? Tops and trousers often only need to be aired before being worn again.Once you’ve got a full load it’s easy to go into auto-pilot and use the same wash cycle as always. But take a step back and think about what you’re washing.

# 5: Drip dry the natural way It’s so tempting to dry your clothes in a drier, but did you know that tumble driers are a big cause of shredding plastic microfibers from your clothes? These fibres end up in our water ways, in our oceans and ultimately in our food chain. Whenever possible we prefer the natural way - it’s better for your clothes, you’ll use less energy and reduce the amount of microfibers entering the environment.
